Lacquerware & Lapis Lazuli Choker Necklace with Alloy Accents

Three materials, named as they are: a Chinese lacquer focal bead, a strand of natural lapis lazuli, and alloy hardware. The lacquer is deep blue with a raised circle pattern; the lapis shows pyrite flecks. A choker, worn close.

Materials & Construction

• Chinese lacquer focal bead: Pure natural raw lacquer, about 15.6mm. Tree sap, layered and cured — not paint or resin. Raised circles are worked into the coat by hand.
• Natural lapis lazuli: Faceted strand beads in deep blue, with natural pyrite specks. Not dyed howlite.
• Alloy hardware: Barrel beads, spacers, lobster clasp, and extension chain in a gold-tone alloy finish. Not solid gold.
• Weight: About 12.4g. Slight variation per piece.
• Length: Choker, with an adjustable extension chain.
• Closure: Lobster clasp.

Styling Notes

Wear it at the base of the neck, alone or with a thin gold chain. The blue reads as stone and lacquer, not costume navy.

Care Instructions

• Avoid prolonged water, perfume, and direct sun.
• Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak lapis.
• Natural raw lacquer contains urushiol. Stop wearing if itching or redness appears.
