Three materials, named as they are: a Chinese lacquer focal bead, a strand of natural obsidian, and alloy hardware. Not black spinel. The lacquer is dark with gold florals and iridescent inlay; the obsidian is faceted volcanic glass. Wear it at the chest.

Materials & Construction

• Chinese lacquer focal bead: Pure natural raw lacquer, about 15.6mm. Tree sap, layered and cured — not paint or resin. Gold floral painting and iridescent inlay sit in the coat.
• Natural obsidian: Faceted strand beads in deep black. Volcanic glass with a high sheen, not spinel.
• Alloy hardware: Spacers, charm, lobster clasp, and extension chain in a gold-tone alloy finish. Not solid gold.
• Weight: 11.6g.
• Closure: Lobster clasp with an adjustable extension chain.

Styling Notes

Wear it alone over a round neck, or with a thin gold chain. The black reads as glass and lacquer, not costume jet.

Care Instructions

• Avoid prolonged water, perfume, and direct sun.
• Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
• Natural raw lacquer contains urushiol. Stop wearing if itching or redness appears.
